A life shaped by different worlds

I grew up in Russia, where travel began opening windows onto worlds beyond the one I knew. What fascinated me was often not a monument or a particular sight, but the simple discovery that life elsewhere could look and feel entirely different.

Crossing a border meant encountering different rhythms, customs and values; different ideas of comfort, beauty and what constituted a good life. There were moments of cultural shock, moments of wonder, and the gradual realisation that the world becomes far more interesting when we step outside the boundaries of what we know.

Over time, that exposure changed something in me. I began to feel less defined by any one place or culture, and more at home in the wider world. My sense of what life could look like became broader and more fluid. I didn't want merely to visit other places; I wanted to experience them from within — to stay longer, live elsewhere, understand more, and keep discovering different versions of life.

That curiosity never really left me. Eventually, life carried me across the world to Australia, and today I am based in Perth.

Travel has also accompanied me through change in my own life. I know the peculiar power of stepping outside the familiar — how distance can bring perspective, how an encounter can challenge an assumption, and how a place can stay with us long after we return home.

Why NomadicaLux

The idea behind NomadicaLux grew from a question I kept returning to: why do certain journeys stay with us, while others simply become places we have been?

I have come to believe that the difference often lies in how deeply a journey connects with the person taking it. The right experience, at the right moment in our lives, can be both educational and transformative: it can deepen our understanding, awaken curiosity, challenge an assumption, restore a sense of possibility or offer a perspective we could not quite find at home.

That is why I don't want to simply arrange where you go and where you stay. I want to understand why you are travelling, what draws you, what you are curious about, and what you hope to find — even when you cannot quite put it into words yet.

NomadicaLux was created around that idea: travel designed with intention, imagination and genuine attention to the individual.

A journey may lead you into the wilderness, into the heart of an ancient city, around a table with people you have only just met, or somewhere wonderfully quiet. It may challenge you, restore you, inspire you — or simply give you exactly the experience you needed at that particular moment.

Because the destination matters. But so does the person who returns from it.

Experience, backed by expertise

My first professional glimpse into the world of travel came years ago in Moscow, working in travel PR and representing exceptional international hotels to the Russian market. It introduced me to a particular standard of hospitality — where beautiful surroundings were only part of the story, and thoughtful service, attention to detail and a genuine understanding of the guest made the real difference.

Today, I am a qualified travel advisor. NomadicaLux is independently owned and operated by me, Angelica Kapitonova, in partnership with Connected Travel. Connected Travel is ATIA Accredited (A14403), providing access to industry accreditation, supplier partnerships, operational systems and business support. Connected Travel is also a member of ATAC, Australia’s travel agency co-operative.

For my clients, this means that the creative and deeply personal work of NomadicaLux is supported by professional travel expertise, trusted industry relationships and the established framework of an Australian travel network.
